Was thinking about the two si's I've owned last night and how rare they seemed to have come. Not one at the meet last night and none on eBay either.

What made you fall in love with an Si and buy one.

I bought my first Si in 1998 for £7500.

It was the front winged seats and the nice round bumpers with round fog lights that did it for me, was such a refreshing change from the square type that was seen on all the XR2i's at the time. Also had the black interior detailing which looked fresher then the older mk3 models that had grey.

at the time I was looking at getting a ford fiesta mk4 zetec, a saxo 1.4 westcoast or a fiat punto sporting for my first cat at 17 then I saw a lowered si drive past and never looked back, i bought mine in august 2004 and still have it today and absolutely love it and everyone loves the seats

I think the looks of them did it for me. They just looked modern compared to normal mk3's.

When I was looking at getting my first car I was looking at all sorts, literally just looking at cars for £600 odd. Found a 1.3 fiesta in aubergene purple which I bought, then joined upto this site and also fiesta turbo, and among my travels I saw a couple of aubergene Si's and thought to myself I want my car to look like that because it looks so nice! So I made it into a replica, and then I got a proper Si about 2-3 years later and had the Si ever since that.

They sure are getting rare! It's not often you see one these days.

As said on another thread, i like the cozyness on long journeys, its kibda got the old car charm with new car newer car refinemeant.

Also when lowered with 15" alloys it looks spot on.

i loved the colour of mine!

i wish i had kept mine aswell miss the feel of it

Was the bumpers for me, as already said, gave the car a more modern feel. I had no idea what trim and spec they came in having seen one driving around, just decided I liked them

The fact it cost me £50.

This website got me into them mainly, didnt know much about cars to start with then I looked at it and thought it was nice and wanted to do some things to it.

There a nice shape and when I got the 1.6 its a pokey motor, I love the starter motor noise especially if you have a nice grumbly exhaust after. No car has compared to the start up noise of my old Si!

an ex girlfriend of mine had access to her parents 1.1 mk3 fezza so i had some interest in that but i was planning on getting a zs as my first car!

i saw one on the way to college liked it so researched it and found they were a little out of my price range at the time, then i spotted an Si paked up at the college car park and fell in love

search was on as i could afford it, ended up with my first one 3 months after passing my test, fund this place and then it was downhill from there as mods started

it was the bumpers that did it for me, prefered them to the square rs/xr bumpers

Definitely the bumpers that did it for me, then I sat in the seats and was sold!

Still love the little slu... er I mean car, even though its old now I still think it looks as good if not more so than the current ST etc.

ive been tempted to get another si recently. just all my moneys going into the leon recently and ive already been there with both cars before and it wasnt really working out for me.
