Poll time: A few of you may know that I'm going abroad in the shitbox in a few weeks. I planned on doing 4 laps of the ring for a few euros on the way home. However..... First I read this page: http://nurburgring.org.uk/beginners.php that put me off more than slightly. ![]() Then it turns out that no UK insurer will cover you for driving on the Nurburgring despite it being a public road on touristenfahrten days (open toll road days) . The European powers that be say otherwise but the UK insurance industry has a get out clause by putting a disclaimer in your terms and conditions. You agree to these by taking out the policy. ![]() http://bridgetogantry.com/2/index.php/n ... ient-truth So the fact is I'm not covered, directline say so. If I pang the car and hit some some barriers I'm in for a mega bill, If I hit another car i'm fooked. Anyone been? what did you do? Was looking forward to it but now i'm worried ![]() ta. ![]() |

Just do it. Fuck the insurance and that. You wont crash if you take it easy, the only people who crash are twats in performance cars thinking they are on gran turismo. I can bet 100% most british people who go round there aren't insured. My old boss goes every year in his scooby or on his bike and he loves it. He took a focus estate diesel around there and said it was awesome fun to drive. |

As mentioned don't drive like a knob and keep an eye on your mirrors for people driving like knobs. |

on normal days when the ring is open you can just casually drive around but as said be aware of twat drivers who go blasting it around the ring!!! and then there are proper track days where the only vehicles on the ring are for people who go do want to go round fast but its all organised so that no mega slow coaches are on the ring i.e. tourist rides etc. but from what i hear their track days are proper expensive! |

I did the Nurburgring in 2005 , and it was a great experience yes theres great risk of hitting a car , bike or the barriers, but drive well within yourself, its a massive circuit, and one youll never learn( i tried to on the playstation, but when on the track i just rmembered little parts of it) Go there enjoy yourself, watch your mirrors, and drive within yourself , its a great experience you have to do at least once in your lifetime |
