whats the black crackle paint called? and please dont point out the obvious, i want the make etc  or is it just the crackle hammerite one?sam HAD it on his engine bay in the erst and didnt like it, i know most people dont but i do so ha. thanks, biz |

This is what all the Honda guys use for either a red or black rocker cover. http://www.vhtpaint.com/products/wrinkleplus/ I have the red stuff sitting here, waiting to be used in fact. |

thanks Ry and Terry... but wil the hammerite not give the same finish? cba having to spray and cure it in the oven but if i have to, i have to. rocker cover will certainly being going crackle bitches |

You don't have to cure it in the oven if once it's installed, you get your engine very hot for a period of time. Depends what's easier - Mum telling you off or spending a bit of petrol for the generated heat. I'm going to bang mine on and get the engine bay roasting away. |

Not entirely sure buddy! Can't see it getting any more crackled than it would be if you left it out in the sun or indoors ! might just crackle quicker? Honestly have no idea though.! |

The crackle paint i used PJ1 Paints, its needs to be sprayed on the items that are warm, Luckly i had acess to a spray booth... Prep - i flatted the items down with 320 dry then de greased them with paint wipes, the masked up and painted... Applyed 1 heavy coat first of all, then after a few mins apart from each other apply 3 light coats and then bake and let dry over night. Few pics on my Project DTR thread... Cheers Tiller |

very late pics .. sorry for odd focus :S but you get the idea.        sorry for size. but you can see its a lot rougher than the crackle ry posted. i love it though
