Is it true that -60mm lowering spring's and all lowering springs in general are just standard springs, That have been cut, Heat treated to stiffen them and then re-painted..... I have -60mm springs in my mk3.5 and i have cut one coil off each, Been in use for around 2000miles not had a problem, And a friend has asked me to cut one coil off his -35mm springs is this "UN-SAFE" or is it okay as long as you don't start cutting the springs to short ? We both run shortened shocks so no chance of them falling out, Any advice would help cheers kieren |

I must say you should never cut springs, they are designed to work as a complete unit. It can cause the springs to pop out of place which is highly dangerous when driving. As it is lowering springs are manufactured to me lower and aren't just standards which have been cut. |
