Mk6 ZS TDCi but I doubt you would find one for that money, then again I haven't looked in a while. Fi still wants one. But she also likes the newer shape Focus, they're really good VFM. Further on from that I would look at a late Puma/Mk5 ZS or an ST170 as you said. A bit limited with something that will tend to be reliable after that. Reliability and Performance won't come from an older Ford, especially anything that has been fettled with, but then you know enough people who know their Ford's inside out so fixing won't be a major issue I imagine ![]() |

Well as said im enjoying my st170, perfect gor the everyday and fun on the side. Dont forget about the mondeo st's although alot bigger than what you wanted. |

Get yourself an ST170 Sam. ![]() I have one and it's great, a good all rounder. It deals with the regular stuff in comfort but when you want to give it some beans it has the poke too. Plenty of them out there at good prices so be choosey. They do have a couple of known issues, IMRC, Corroded sump, leaking thermostat housing etc but are all easy enough to sort out. Do it! |
