Guys, I need your expertise. Not for me, but for my mate Nick, he's a traffic sergeant in Notts police.
Basically, he siezed a Mk 3 Fiesta after arresting some guy (he won't go in to particulars as he can't) but he needs help with the actual car. It has no VIN numbers, and the reg comes back to something completely different, and he can't identify what exactly it's supposed to be.
Here's what we know:

It's a rust bucket :lol:
It's a metallic blue/green slightly greener than java blue.
It's badged up as an RS1800.
It has a full XR2i kit with black rubber spoiler.
It's got a 1.8 16v motor.
It's got Si wing back seats.
It has got the 5 spoke RS1800 style alloys but they're 14" like Scottys old Si.

The one thing that bothers me is that Im not sure RS1800's were made in this weird greeny/blue colour.

I'd appreciate ANY help, I know it's for the police, but he's a good mate, and it would help greatly.

yeah they did do them in that sort of colour ,and the 3.5's had wingback type seats too.

92-late 93 would've had recaros. early 94-96 would've have Si wingbacks. Can't really think of something exclusive to the RS1800. It could be Mallard Green as the RS1800s did come in this colour and it has quite a few varying shades :)

The 1800 did have under piston oil jets :lol: but that's somewhat difficult to check. The XR2i 16v is identical in appearence to the RS1800 as far as I know. Sounds like you've got a mk3.5 model though, so the car could well be genuine, but have the wrong ID.

Yeah Mk3.5 RS1800's came with wingbacks and they also came in Cayman Blue which could well be the colour you're describing. The interior trim should be a sort of zebra striped pattern *across* the seats, although obviously these could have been changed quite easily. Also if its got the standard airbox and the sticker, XR2i is 105PS as opposed to the RS1800's 130PS.
