Hey guys, can anyone tell me what a reasonable asking price would be for a 1.6 zetec from an si. In good condition and done around 93000 miles. Cheers :thumbsup:

I wouldn't think you'd get more than £100 :lol: Most people could buy another for the price of changing an engine. Probably buy another 2 actually :lol:

I think the problem is finding someone that wants a1.6 when you can get a 1.8/2.0 for similar money.

Just take it apart and learn how to do something like a headgasket. It may well save you in the future. If you break anything, it won't matter. Slap it on an engine stand and learn the internals :)

Des that does sound like a good plan but the guy that does alot of the stuff i cant do on the car is interested and the money could really help on other things. was really just wondering how much i should be asking for it. If he's changed his mind now (it has been a while since we last spoke) that will be the new plan :)

sold mine for £70, sold my 2.0 for £85, prices really vary from £50-£100

depends who wants it, for what and how badly :P
