Chipped ECU's.. How many performance based companies would simply crash and burn from that? What a load of bollocks!

I think if they did that I'd simply buy a fast car that I didn't need to modify or move to the Isle of Man.. - No MOT's, job done.

I have them too, I havent ever once been flashed or anything. But I have never put them in for an MOT because they would fail due to beam pattern, self wash and self leveling. But lets be honest, how many companies out there make kits which do that?

Where normal headlights flick up, mine dont, its literally just a level line kinda thing so it would fail on that too. The only thing I have had is them aligned on the headlight alignment tool so i know they are at the correct height. I do that a couple of times a year too.

I agree they are better vision, I would NEVER go back to having normal bulbs. I consider them dangerous personally. Admittedly HID's are bright but as long as they are corrctly aligned i dont see a problem in them

What is more interesting is that back in April there was major talk of changing MOT's to be every 2 years instead of 1 as the rules were created initially back in the 60's.

I for one would welcome that!

All that in the list is bs

Ry - I would NOT welcome that! People are so complacent with cars as it is, if you then prolong the chance of them being told something is dangerous on their cars they simply won't do anything. 23 months after the last MOT, their brakes are shot to pieces and they come thundering up behind you as you have stopped at traffic...

I don't think the MOT is the best, but it does at least help in keeping certain things in order which may well affect the cars safety on the road with it's regularity :)

I do agree from that point of view - I know I always keep these things in tip top condition.

So with that in mind, a 12 month safety check and a 24 month MOT should be a good idea. Brakes, Tyres, anything that can harm other motorists by way of loose fixings, etc.

Hell, even a 6 month safety check would be fine if it keeps business running for the garages losing out on 50% of their MOT business.

Yeah, that would be a good compromise. But I have seen how people are just soooooo ignorant about their cars. It's mental when you think you're driving around in a metal coffin!

HID lights - I agree on that one, the amount of fucking shite lights blinding me is unreal.
Chipped ECU’s - BS.. but anyway, mines not chipped.. its mechanical, so fook you.
Wiring harness - Makes sense IMO.. just get some of the cheap plastic coverings if your worried.
Airbag warning lights - This has always been the case unless the car is over 8-10 years old??

MOT's are pointless.
