what are they like to drive daily?

what sort of mpg can be had from them?

i'm looking for a new daily runner so considering a few options

good to drive

handle well

got 300 miles to a tank out of mine

and i have one for sale

Diesels for dailys are the way forward

really depends on the miles you do as the cost difference in petrol/diesel can mean you have to do alot of miles to save with a diesel

They are good as daily drivers enough poke to get around, i've seen someone (granny driving to the max) get something like 50mpg out of one as it's always in competition on ZSOC.

When I had a standard car I got 40mpg out of it driving normally.. like trying not to go above 3k

there are diesel zetec s tdci mk6 fiestas mate they have been known to be very good on fuel. but to be fair when you say daily driver, how many miles do you do? if its less than 12k a year i wouldn't bother with diesels. dervs are very good for constant long distance driving etc petrol can be good on mpg just keep changing gear at 2k revs and you'll be fine!

Thing is, the MK6 dervs arent cheap to buy!

MK5 Zetec S rep... lucky to find a 3 door mk5 derv plus the MK5's are mainly the flybywire turbo endura engines and they suck arse.

I'm toying with fixing the uno carb, cheap 45bhp daily lol

i think he means the saxo.

and from a point of view he is right, you can get a much cleaner vtr with less milage and no rust for the same price of zs. i know becuase i have looked... but for some reason i just wouldnt be able to buy one. its a heart over head thing.
