I think alot of cutting and welding as it simply wont fit in thr space. Have you got the box? |

Why not spend the money on a different final drive, different ratio's etc not sure what's available for your boxes mind.. If I was staying N/A, gear ratio's would be one of my top priorities for performance. |

Don't bother doing it its a waste of time.. Ive spoken to Luke (the mental ZT track car builder on ft..) about it before.. Well for one, you need to convert to hydrolic clutch setup (but you cant just swap to a different servo..) You need to weld the mount on the inner leg on the passenger side, You need to use the ST170 gear stick and cable linkage, which goes through the bulkhead, The linkage setup on the gearbox means you have to bin the brake servo, Which means you have to have a complete pedal box setup for both the brake and clutch pedals... Not worth it. Get some proper ratio'd gearing in your box. ps. MK1 Focus RS is 5 speed. |

good advice from the guys above. I personally wouldnt put the 6 speed box in, new brackets , custom shafts, hydraulic clutch conversion, etc.......... get a good IB5 built with custom ratios , and decent final drive 4.4:1 , 4.54:1 or something similar IB5 box will last all day, Ive just had my Quaiffe BC box stripped and built into an IB5 gearbox by G.E.A.R.S in Southend and its absolutely brilliant , better syncros, better bearings, spring loaded neutral, better breather. I drove round Croft circuit flat out all day on Sunday , and not as much as a spot of oil came out of any of the seals, breather etc.... very very happy with it Peter at GEARS is very knowlegable about these boxes, defo worth giving him a ring if your wanting a special box built , or even your own with better ratios/final drive, tell him Paul recommended him |
