Alright guys, the time has come to fit my new engine. due to financial issues my turbo project has been cancelled and i am simply going to use what i have... my 1.8 zetec. the most obvious reason being that its free besides a few ancillaries (new belts and oil and stuff) This way i get more power for just a little time and effort. the turbo would have been fun but i will leave that for a much later day. So... the big request. Can someone/people please help me with the transplant. I live in Worcester, West Midland so anyone with experience who is relatively local... or simply generous enough to come help I would be forever grateful. I know next to nothing about cars but am keen to learn on this job and i can use a spanner ![]() I can offer you lodgings for the evening and a crate of beer will be close at hand for once we are done. I'm sure this is a 1 or 2 day job and the more the merrier are welcome to lend a hand. Dates wise i am hoping to get this done before FordFair (7/8/11) but this is not desperate. Anyone that is willing to help just let me know any dates you are free and we can arrange it for then (i only need a week or so's notice to get a weekend off) I dont own an engine crane (tango i hope you can come help and bring yours along ![]() ![]() I can't do the 1st 2 weekends in july but any others i'm sure i can arrange. Thanks for reading this and anyone who wants to help extra thanks, just let me know when you are available. as i say bed and board will be provided... along with food and plenty of drink ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for the replies guys, I've spoken to my insurance and the quote isn't insane so I all go ahead with the plans. Paul, tango and ben (and anyone else who is considering helping) here are a few dates that I think will work for me so just let me know if they are good for you. I have added a vote as well at the top to chose your favourite 16/17th, 23/24th or 30/31st? All Saturday/Sunday combos before FordFair. Let me know so I can start making the arrangements ![]() |
