But it's not for me, it's for one of the girls at work. She currently has a 53 plate KA, but wants something slightly newer. The criteria! £5k limit All the usual electrics - air con a bonus. 55 plate or newer 45mpg+ Low Insurance group Thoughts? She's been looking at Toyota Aygo's, C1's, 107's etc, but I'm sure there's nicer/bigger things out there that only cost a bit more to run! (I'm rubbish with cars that aren't sporty/top of the range models ![]() |

What about something like Percy's Focus? I cant imagine it costing the earth to run, theres the extra room, apparently good to drive, alot have electric goodies and its a ford so she will be familiar with it after the car. Maybe a polo as there are some very economical models out there but Im not sure on hat price they are at. Iv drove a c1 and while I was enjoying driving a new car it felt one the corsa we have which is on an r reg, also theyre very basic on electrics unless you find one what had all extras bought for it and Im not impressed by there being only seating for 2 in the back which alot of new small cars seem to be doing. |

Fiesta Zetec 1400 TDCi 2006 T&T and warranty, 45k miles just been serviced, £30 a year tax and ins group 4 Does about 60mpg average, very cheap to run, lacks some mod cons though because pre facelift However, this one, although pushing the budget to the limit (haggle him) is facelift 2007, same criteria as above except itsa climate version, so it has air con, heated front windscreen as well (great for winter) You could look round and find them cheaper but that one only has 34k miles!! Both very cheap to run, i should know having one, when we took it to cornwall it went there and back and had lots of fuel spare afterwards The petrol ones are more expensive to run but still get about 40mpg the 1.4 is a good mix of power versus economy and there are 1.25 or 1.6 versions too, will all cost about £120 a year to tax and about the same insurance group, you can get climate versions with low mileage on 2007 plates for about £3.5-£4k (not as expensive as the diesels) Example below Another recommended by are the new shape corsa's the diesels are punchy and in the price range with the mod cons for just over £4k T&Td up |

Got a shit st if she wants it. Paint chips, swirls, keen on oil (still) thirsty. New tyres, rear brakes and service mind. Cost her half a curly wurly and a packet of lovehearts. |

I love it but hate it equally. Puts a smile in my face which turns sour soon after. Repeat that cycle. |
