Maybe it's just me, but iam not buying into this matte black look, I do love the look of the FRS 500 but don't think I would get the same satisfaction after cleaning it and not seeing myself in the reflection of the paintwork ![]() |

I think it looks cool on dog cars or just someones motor but couldnt do it to my own, although its cheap and easy to sort out any dents etc ![]() |

Personally I'm not keen on Matt black except on rat look cars. But at the end of the day that's why they do it - so the cars look ratty, so why are they now thinking its a good look for a new car? Coming to the rs500 I think it looks pretty good BUT it's been vinyl wrapped. Now I can hard talk badly about that asy car has bits carbon wrapped but those are small bits. That wrap gets damaged realitively easily and cant be repaired like paint can. At the end of the day it's a money saving ploy from ford on a £35000 car. Seems a little rude to me |

Wrap on a car is 500x easier to repair then paint. All you to is take it off and apply a new wrap on it. Its the way forward with cars, a lot of people do it and it looks amazing if done professionally. It wouldnt surprise me if many manufactures go down that route in the future. |

I disagree Danny ok so yeah all you have to do is take it off and reapply a new layer but cost wise for the customer there is little price difference between rewrapping and repainting, yet the vinyl gets damaged a lot easier and looks terrible when damaged. It will need doing more regularly and there is no way to repair it yourself and get a half decent look. It's cheaper for manufacturers so I agree it probably is the way it's gonna be but honestly it's worse for the customer in my opinion |

Yes iam really keen on the idea on vinyl wrap, different fancy designs and cheaper if you change your mind on the wrap. |

Do it. You can change the whole colour of your car to whatever wrap you can get for hardly anything these days. My friend just had his black scooby wrapped white. I thought it was a new car at first and the job was superb, you could only just about make out in one or two corners it was wrapped. Wrapping cars is the way forward i personally think! |

Yeah depending on the quality of the vinyl depends how long it will last. Most will last 5 years minimum and still look good. Price is about spot on too, I think my friend had his scooby done for about £1k. Its not easy, but its like anything, its all about prep and patience. It took me a day to wrap the kit car, just taking my time doing it all properly squeegy (spelling) the water out and getting all the air bubbles out. It is like tinting windows, but easier in some respects, with window tinting you can see all the imperfections a mile away, so it will look naff, where as doing it against a solid background, its harder to make them out, so looks better if you know what I mean? Once you get the hang of tinting windows its easy, ive done loads now, the first set I did was on my old fiesta, got 1 hair in there and that was the only inperfection there was lol. Stupid hair! lol. I even got offered a job as a tinter but turned it down! |

Wasnt a bad little car, had a honda fireblade engine in it. It sold for about £7k. Was more of a sprint car than anything, the thing just flew. You could sit doing 30 and get upto about 110 in literally the same time as a bike if you had grip. In the wet... no no no lol. 6th gear you would spin the wheels up.. semi slick tyres ftw! ![]() |
