I had Clifford on my Fiesta - no problems.

I have Clifford on my Pulsar - no problems.

An alarm is only as good as the fitter. If it's done right, they're mostly all decent.

Clifford can also have options added to it as and when you want. I got the turbo timer on the alarm when it was all installed. :)

i had a old clifford 50x on my fiesta but had to take it off due to previous owner changing the valet code so could not reprogramme the fobs :banghead:

was thinking of the clifford 650 mk2 but when i was searching google to fix my alarm i didnt really here many good points just rip it out and fit a toad

even though i didnt have any problems with mine plus it had been fitted 12 years
so it was due to be updated anyway

but looking on ebay the clifford is a fair bit more than the toad plus they do pretty much the same things

is it just the name you are paying for or the quality cheers :D

Yeah i was looking at the Toad ai606, it looks promising. And there's a company on ebay that will fit it by professionals for £300, that's including the windows and boot pop if you already have it.

Use old Barry on eBay, I'll get link later. Ai606 fitted at your house for £209 can't complain :) I read or was told that toad own Clifford so at the end of the day they should both be as good as each other but you pay for the designer label lol.

Ai606 is what I'm going for when I get the money... And Barry is going to fit it for me

I really don't see the big hoo-haah about Cliffords. Personal experience speaks volumes, and my personal experience is only good with them. Saved my Fiesta from being stolen, and saved the Pulsar from being broken into a couple of times. Already paid for itself. NEVER have I once had a false alarm with my current one. The Fiesta one did a few times, but nothing OTT, few and far between.

If they were that crap I wouldn't have gone with them a second time...

Des, one of the guys potentially mapping my car stated there were security issues with turbo timers but didn't go into detail, know of any causes for concern?

The ultrasonics on my standard Cat 2 alarm have gone funky and I'll need to upgrade at some point this year and was interested in the turbo timer option.

Well mate, when I set my turbo timer, I take the keys out, get out the car, and press the alarm fob as normal. The car locks as normal, the alarm is set as normal, and everything is good. The engine is still running, shuts down after the set amount of time, and the alarm continues as normal.

So I don't see how there's any difference from setting the alarm with or without the engine running, apart from someone smashing your window to break in and try to drive it away. But they can't. The steering lock works because the keys aren't in the ignition, and if they went as far as they could in a straight line, it would shut down and they'd be stuck.

im very interested in this. anoying that some of my mates can open my car.

as a total, how much would buying it and fitting one cost? i know it depends on what i get, so it would just be a standard alarm, i dont have central locking or a boot popper?
