firstly. my insurance will be void if i do any modifications.

as my suspension i bought is onl a 30mm drop, it wont be obvious by eye (i dont think) so does anyone know the procedure of examining a car by your insurance company?

second is, my wishbones have gone again, been advised to polybush it. how much will it be to do the front and where can i go to get the stuff?

seen some on ebay but thats a full set and over my budget atm.

Car insurers a gettin sneaky at paying out from what I heard of guys in the know is that if your tyre psi is out by 10% I think they won't pay out cause car has been deemed un roadworthy
But sayin that if you only have minor bump and or police don't impound the car the insurance assesor can't check the vehicle over have you tried a quote with the lowered springs? Poly bushes are straight forward to fit had them on my 100e think full set cost bout 80 or so

might just go for the full set then, think its like 54 on ebay.

yeah i know it's my call. had that talk off my dad, hence why im selling my alloys. and ill probably leave my suspension until i change my policy (in a few months) so since im having my exhaust replaced on friday (which needs doing) im not sure if that counts as a modification since it doesnt really increase speed?

when i spoke with my insurance about my mods i told them i was fitting ford wheels and they would be Optional Extra when the car was new they still told me its a mod like stickers, if the exhaust is from say fords , a factor its ok nomal oem parts if its modification one like this then you will have problems (Magnex 3" cat back exhaust) i would just phone them before you do any thing safe bet we can tell you no yes but the insuance company will tell you good luck

im not really fussed about tell my insurance company about all my mods, and i have a few lol

just told them about what can be seen like the wheels and stainless exhaust, at the end of

day never gonna get the money back i have spent on it lol

I will say my current insurance wen't up very little for my current mods so won't complain, but it does seem most of the time the mod and premium hike are out of sync.

EG putting different wheels on a car may make it slightly more desirable to to steal, but past that you are no more likely to crash/mame/kill than you were before.

true percy. skyinsurance, my policy doesn't allow it. the time being, i am fitting my exhaust which is a magnex insane, not a ford exhaust, since that would make no difference anyway. and that is that lol. i only have a few months left of my policy so i will make my mind up in that time.

Personal and professional advice, I'd rather declare and actually have an insurance policy worth the paper it is written on.

Quite often modified car insurance is cheaper than standard car insurance.

yeah that's what ill be going for ta ollie.
exhaust needs to be fitted and its a risk im willing to take. other stuff can wait until im finished with this policy. need the money anyway lol.

All my mods on my Pulsar are declared, and the price didn't go up at all Quite surprising really

But a few years back, I phoned up my insurance for the Fiesta and asked how much for the RS skirts and arches if they were put on. £400 was the answer. Four hundred pound for those skirts and arches!

Needless to say I never put them on

if you declare the mods and are insured legally you do know in the back of your mind you are not hiding anything and to be honest if you dont declare them then are you not technically insured? sounds like its a risk not worth taking to me even to save a few pennies
