iv been doing my job of leaflet distribution for over 5years now and at first i started off posting and iv always remembered this white xr2i at this house near to when i first started, now on friday when i dropped all my lads off to do there business I decided to have a drive up there as its where i was workin and its still there, it looks like its not moved for years(as sais in the 5years iv seen it its not moved), all around the fuel cap is rusty so im presumin the other usual places are the same. ANYWAY onto the point of this i want it, i was thinkin of goin sending a letter through the door giving him my phone number if he was interested to give me a bell. i dont really want to knock on because i know how annoying it can be if you keep getting hassled about cars on the drive etc. My question is what would make a good offer be for a fiesta xr2i that has been stood (its a 1.6cvh as the fuel cap give it away that its a mk3)? would i be cheeky offering £50 because it clearly is never gonna drive again. If i can get pictures i will but i feel dodgy snoopin on someones drive ![]() ![]() |

sounds good to me, if it turns out to be rotten through and beyond repair it could still be a nice little money earner for you in breaking it!! |

this ones a dog that will probably never see the road again judging by how it looks and how long its been stood so its a not a very good example. |

I suppose there isnt really a price you can put on it until you look at the damage if the floor pan is rotted through £50 if hes lucky simple as because if that floor pan has got so bad its rotted through you can bet your arse there wont be meany parts on the car in good enuf condition to sell/use. And if you wanted to keep it that would mean some serius amounts of fabrication to sort out then on top of that the all round value of the car will suffer due to all the fact that its been welded so much etc etc. But if the floor pan seems reasonable it may be worth taking it on exterior panels are not all too hard to fit as long as you brace the chassis properly when taking the panels off it will be fine the hard part is getting them lines up dot on. I think its a shame when you see an old fast ford rotting away it makes me just want to buy it and fix it back up weather I would make money or not just that feeling that because of you another retro legend of a ford is back were it belongs would just do it for me lol. I am so sad that I somtimes find going to the scrap yard and seeing all these ford dead a bit upsatting hahahahaha |

remember Try not to insult the person who owns it with a £50 pounds till you no how much he wants first he may tell you to clear off just say you been after a xr2i for ages he could just say take it off my hands or give you a price then ask if you can have a good look at it ask him if its running stuff like that |

it may be a 16v'er depending on the reg as they came with the small fuel cap aswell i would put a note through the door asking if theyd be interested in selling the car and ask them to give you a ring |

oh, the reg has been pulled off the back. judging by the seats (they was hard to see with all the crap on them) they wasnt the wingbacks like the si shape so i think it is a cvh, correct me if im wrong? |

The only way to find out is to ask! Get on with it and tell us what happens! |

easy to tell if its 8v; dash should be grey. trim should be "zolda" like '90 spec ERST's - grey cheque with red/blue speckles. boot badge should be flat blue sticker. should have blue stripes around the car and bumper. black trim between door and rear quarter windows. should have the windmill style alloys akin to fiesta ghias. no cat! 16v; black dash. "raven in ascot" trim like early rs1800's, similar to FRST's "jigsaw raven" moulded badge in silver. 16v badge. no stripes on bumpers or sides of car. no black trim between windows. 5 spoke alloys, the same as the fiesta si. personally i like the 8v style better. And its faster, and it has more power. but a 16v in "pacifica blue" is super sexy. love xr2i's. love 'em. |

Its definatly the 8v then, has blue stripes, old alloys and grey dash. If i do get it, i can see it being hard to break however bad it is because its an old ford and they all seem to be gettin broke nowadays. I always loved the XR range, it would be good to see the badge brought back although i do like the st range. |

well iv just popped round and i cant have it, i knocked on the door and an oldish woman answered the door while trying to hold a dog back from escaping, I said "im sorry to interupt you but i was wondering if you was interested in selling your fiesta?" and she said "just hang on i will go and ask" then she came back and said "iv just spoken to my husband and we are not" so i said "ok thanks" and went home in a hough because i just cant understand why . . . i know its theirs but this car has just been left to rot, why would they turn down an offer to get rid, i really couldnt see them doing anything with it. I got the feeling they where hoarders because there was quite a few cars on there garden just rotting away like land rovers and campervans. I really am annoyed even though i shouldnt be as i havent lost anything, i was polite enough but i didnt even get chance to try and swing them round, i think i need to catch the "husband" on his own so i can speak to him so maybe in the future because i can see this car still there in another 5 years so no rush lol Anyway here are some pics of the said car: ![]() ![]() |

I think if you had offer 50 pounds they would of told you to clear off so maybe for the best as may just set the dog on you also not shure if its good idea to put some ones car on a forum if you do not own it too ... |

It is a waste, its really annoyed me. There is no reg plates of the shown car so it could be anyones and if he asked me to make an offer it would take an idiot to just say clear off, i dont insult people, i would just raise my price appropriatly, it was just a starting point. If the cars is rotten underneath as we all know mk3 fiestas are it wont be worth much. |
