I just phoned up my garage, as I remember once having my last cars gearbox steam cleaned to trace a leak. They said that they would happily steam clean the whole chassis/underside and engine for 1/2 an hours labour (probably about £20) Does that sound about right, or would it be cheaper to hire one for the day? I tend to trust my garage quite a lot, they're always quite fair on prices. Also, I have a powerflow backbox on my motor at the moment, would it make much noise difference if I got the centre box replaced by them aswell? Cheers, Guy ![]() |

Once it's up to speed Im quite happy with the note, which is why I dont want anything stupid loud. Likewise, at idle, it's rumbly enough, but between 1000 and 3000 rpm, you can hear the whine of the engine too much and pulling out of junctions sounds lame. I want something a bit meatier until the induction kit comes in. If it's gonna make a slight difference, I haven't got anything to lose really, it'd piss me off if it came out sounding lie they'd strapped a 25" slash cut, twin carbon fibre, LED paint tin "BADBOY" exhaust on. Thanks for all your opinions and advice though, it's nice to know people are ready to offer support and help round here, even if I dont drive an Si ![]() |
