The DS3 will have 200bhp... In reality it looks like ford are doing something right... I keep saying I may return if they give me a good reason... that reason might just be above. As it is they are too late as I am keeping the C2 for a good while now, but it looks like ford maybe be back in the running when it comes to replacing it. Good stuff. |

Thank god they're doing something decent! Question is, how heavy will the turbocharged 1.6 Fiesta be? 180bhp in a shell under 1000kg - It better be! Though I would still have the FN2 Type R  Think I'm coming to the end of the line of having hatchbacks as a daily!

Ds3 engines have been made in partnership with BMW as well, so will be a good strong engine. Nice to see that Ford have grown some balls again and are building a luke-warm hatch

I believe you really need to know how to drive a type r as they are high revving mofos Didn't know that about the DS3 engine, suppose if the supercharged minis are anything to go by it could be something special. |

New type R's are pants, not a fan of the old either really, all the owners think they've got the fastest ever car, all because of vtec! I had one pants down, down a B road in my rallye, was pushing it along the road, the owner then turned off to pull in behind me and couldn't keep up, pah who needs vtec when you have 8v's! Lol, so adam I do believe you! |

Oh and Andy when I heard that BMW where working on the engines, I thought sweet some tastey derv engines, as BMW make some cracking 'performance' diesels, but was shocked when I read petrols! |

no, i awaited flaming as u straight away said my ST couldn't beat it. it did. the new type r is rubbish, the old one fora start is faster and better looking imo, and as matt saysevery vtec owner i know is a big headed prick who thinks there civic is the best car as it revs to 8500rpm and its a 1.6 with 160bhp. great. and op has a point, you clearly haven't stopped or you wouldn't criticise mine and op's cars

I do agree with Adam (shall I die of shock?), most Vtec owners are ignorant pricks, especially Civic ek9 and ep3 owners. However comparing the new CTR to the EK9 is like comparing the FRST to the Fiesta ST. worlds apart. Op - whats a Melvin?
