hey everyone, next year as part of my foundation course at uni i can do a project to last me the final year of my coarse. so obviously i have chosen to do a mk3 ![]() my initial ideas are: 1. re-build and tune RS Turbo 2. get a rs turbo engine and put in any shell 3. tuned N/A 2.0 zetec 3. or if im feeling like i want to push the boat out.. 2.0/2.1 turbo zetec ![]() ive been reading up alot about pritty much all of these and have a few issues with cost/time etc for either of them. zetec turbo would be very expensive for me.. especially to insure after, but would be good fun. tuned N/A zetec would be a slightly simpler project to grasp and i could insure it after as a daily driver... maybe but ive always wanted boooost!! get a rs turbo lump, possibly uprate turbo, cams and chipped etc etc. but unsure whether to re-shell it or use existing shell (but then again it may cost more) what are your opinions guys??? detailed help if you can be bothered to write as much as i have lol Cheers, Grant |

Re-build and tune an rs turbo imo mate. Then at the end of it you will have an awesome classic car which is a genuine rs badged ford rather than just a hybrid of some sort. I might be abit biased tho ![]() ![]() |

ZVH can be pretty cheap as its basically an RS turbo with zetec bottom end, but there is a lot of headwork and if you blow the head it a problem. A cheap zetec turbo can be done on a 1.8 with a decomp plate. |

why not 2.0 a mk3, and t/b it? with the info posted up on here somewhere, you can do it all for £800 or less, if you know what your doing, which by the sounds of it you do. unusual , with a beasty induction noise ![]() |
