So my engine isn't much use to anyone, but people come
and pick up the shell/engine of your car and weigh it in and five you money, I'm not so sure how it works, which is why I'm asking if they would just come and take away an engine? even if it dosent work would they give me some cash for it?

ring the local scrap yard and ask or look in local paper adds as there is some times wanted scrap cars, think you may get something for it just to weigh in, but not as much as last year as think scrap value has gone down

If you only plan on weighing in the engine, which it sounds like, then I wouldnt expect to get anything for it

If I was you I would break the engine

You should get some cash for the sump, pickup pipe, flywheel, head, cam cover etc...

All of the parts above bar maybe the flywheel are easy to get off with minimal tools and should see £60 or so from those parts alone

I doubt you will get much, it may be worth something in parts.

More importantly, if you plan a 2.0 conversion you will need a lot of parts from the 1.6 to do it so keep it how it is, do the conversion and then see whats left.
