hi im 16 , 17 in 2 weeks done a liitle to my car but would like to now how to make it faster by playing around or buying little things to help the performance can anyone help? |

I totally agree, the basic spec is what you want to stick with for the first year, as once you get one years no claims behind you the price will drop, and many insurance companies won't touch you at your age with modifications. a 1.2 was more than enough for me for my first years driving ![]() If you were after power exhausts (cat back) and filters and remaps of the ecu can get you small gains but most people on here (at least when they had Si's) would simply take the engine out and put in a 2.0 zetec which is an easy conversion that gets you 40bhp My conversion with bigger brakes cost about £250 with fresh parts and me and a friend doing the work, but as said your best bet is to stick with standard performance wise for now though IMO ![]() |

Strip the interior, that will make you go faster. Other than that keep it standard. Them engines are pathetic to tune. |

ye the insurance on my dads . so if i changed cams and more lik with the engine work i wouldnt have to touch the fuel injection??? id buy the parts and dad fit them for free then so might work out cheap i really dunno this aint something im gonna do tomo but lookin into it as i dont now alot. the cat thing..... leave it in wen MOT then take it out then wen next MOT arrives slam it bak in . and wat do you think i will get out of it top end wise??? and id like to make it more power off the mark like its abit sluggish building up speed anything i can do for this? TURBO would be the boy but dad said hard to install and find room for rad wat does it do if i change the ecu?? is it expensive? |

£700 and ur only 17 years old is good im 19 and mine is £1100 ![]() my m8 got pulled in his pug and he got mod's that's not been declared and they checked his his insurance, then he got it took away until he got the proper insurance 4 it, + all the compound bill etc.. on my mums old oriain we took the cat off and got a big bar and smashed the hunny cone inside out ![]() but if u had a friendly mot garage it'll b all good |
