bought a fiesta st from ford on aug 28th 4.15pm. evans halshaw, wrexham
didnt drive it all weekend as i was selling my xr2i to meilack etc.
come monday morning 31st aug 0700 the windscreen was foggy, oh, "i'll use the quickclear" i said to myself.
however only 1/3 of the fucker worked.
wtf? got out had a look, its a replacement windscreen by "UKG" glass, not pilkington like the rest. phone ford tues 1st sept and say, "its not working i want to book it in, ive paid for a 2 year warrenty and ive only had it fuck all time".
"not a problem sir, book it in"
i had to fit it around work and having a courtesy car and having my new insurance docs through. so today (9th sept) it was booked for.
took the car in:
"its not covered by warrenty, sorry"
"yeah glass aint covered but i'd had it less than 72 hours and it was the first time i'd used it"
"nope sorry, £300, we dont check them, not part of the used vehicle check"
my arguement is that:
*i'd had the car less than 72 hours and hadnt used it
*should have been checked to make sure it works
*im buying from a ford dealership not a backstreet garage, hence inflated prices for "piece of mind"
so i went to furrows ford down the road from me, asked them what they would do, told me they would have done it as a kind gesture and suggested i take them to trading standards or dump the car on the forcourt and cancel the finance.
what to do?
oh check this, this is what my warrenty doesnt cover - £500 bastards.
