I've been quoted by tesco insurance for 1750 fully comp on a standard SI 1.6 16v, with the car valued at 1000, oh yeah with a 400 excess.

Im a 19 yr old male and just passed my test and I reckon i live in a mid risk area with the car garaged overnight, so is this a good quote??

Also, about how much would an average induction kit increase my insurance premiums and an average full exhaust system?

You could also try Norwhich Union, but you'll be f**ked if you ever have to make a claim, oh and make sure you have enough money for the phone bill.

I personally wouldnt tell them about the induction kit as its quite easy to take it out if the inevitable did happen. Not sure about the charge on the exhaust though.

still stuck on the performance mods tho - do small performance mods tend to push annual insurance premiums up alot (£100) or just a little (£30)

Why bother getting insured fully comp as a teenager especially when the car is only worth £1000. You only have to have fully comp cover if the car is over something like £4000.

When I started driving my first few cars were insured third party fire and theft while I built my no claims up. I think you'd be much better off doing the same thing. £1750 for insurance in ludicrous!! I was only paying £800 full comp for my 280bhp modified Fiat Coupe Turbo which was group 20 (I was 26 though).
