Fiesta RS Turbo: Rare now Costs more then the Xr2i More expensive to insure More expensive to run More expensive to fix Xr2i: Also getting rare as time goes by Cheaper insurance then above Cheaper to run Easy/cheaper to fix and na cvh or the zetec one then an rsturbo Considered an RS1800? |

FRST. RS badge makes it worth twice as much. Hence it's worth keeping it running. |

If you buy either, just make sure you have lots of money and no qualms about throwing hundreds and possibly thousands at it to keep it running. My XR2i needed so much doing to it to keep it running, it's what finally drove me away to the dark side ![]() |

Its the same with any car. if it is looked after well, there isnt any reason why either car would go wrong before the other. |

iv had both, xr2i was only like driving it for a 1hr then every now and then, rst is my daily even tho i havnt used it this week. the xr2i is good nippy... but lacks the fun/boost of the rst. with the rst i dive it hate it for all the little proplems it has and gets, but then this is all forgiven when i hits boooooooost, and well i love it! you have the moneys for a rst then i would sAY GO for that, but look around, lots!!! mine aint that bad at all, but still wish i looked for longer! with wat ever you go for try and buy standerd car, and not off a chav! that way u know whats wat, and hasnt been messed around with and well if you still want power BSMS can help you out ![]() |

Needs the quarter panel doing. Parts > Labour > Paint = 'nuff money. So a £2500 car is at least £3k now. If that bit is rusty then I'll bet you could find other bits that are rusting on it. Sills, inner wings/arches. If you can weld, go for it! |

Rs turbo all the way. They are much more of a classic car due to the rs badge and they are also faster and more worthwhile working on and spending money on. Don't get me wrong, the xr2i is a very good car too but between the two, the rs turbo is deffo the one to get. Maybe i'm slightly biased tho ![]() ![]() |

it depends on how deep y pockets are, i've never owned an rst but i know people who have and there expensive to run and fix. i've had an xr2i 1.6 and i loved it i still miss it yes there not as much fun as the rst but there fun cars i've upset many o chav in newer cars in mine but i ended up litteraly throwing money at it to keep it on the road in 1 month i got the steering rack go water pump brakes that was the final straw and i swaped it for my sierra. saying that tho id have another 1. at the end of the day there hot hatches that 98% of them have been driven hard there whole lives and are wearing out. if you have a decant amount of cash you can get a good 1 thats been looked after or ever rebuilt. i sometimes wish i still had it, with 4 people in it i used to beat leenys si id like to see how bad he would kick my arse now with the 2.0 ![]() |

LOL.... Well i havent got much room to talk on this post but i will anyway.... I have got an XR2i that i started off with and i have put alot of time money and effot into it. Its now running a full FRST Engine etc... but i think its proberly better than alot of FRST on the road... because i know that the chassis is totally solid and all the other work has been done by myself... So to your question yes a FRST the 'better' car but i would much rather have a solid car with a different engine (XR2i) than a Rotten RS because its got the 'RS' badge.... just my 2p's...
