What should I get next? Was thinking a 1.6 si with a few mods already to get me started. But there are some other quicker cars and stuff I can get, like maybe an escort, or a VTR, but I have to be able to buy it for £1000 or less and I'd say 1.8 or less with my 1 years no claims  I think petrol too.. Unless there's a bargain deisel |

with 1 years no claims a lot of cars are insure-able. s2 erst, 205 gti, vts etc. all cheaper than what i pay now for a 1.1 with no years no claims. |

i'd go for a 106 xsi/rallye/gti, as it's easy and fun to tune. 205 gti would be a bombshell for 1k. Well not totally but it would always need work doing on it. |

well I just tried insuring a 1.8 civic VTI (granted 180bhp) but they wouldn't insure me, or a 1.8 escort GTI, no insurance. Although I have just found an amazing 1.6 si  35000 miles. Green on eBay. Anyone seen it? Please don't buy it  as I might.

 Fair enough. Thinking about it, all the valvers I've seen have had no rear quartersleft at all due to rot and yeah, civics are nearly as bad How much are GTi-6's these days, phase 1, might be able to get an old one for a grand??? Emlyn |

Yeah you can get semi-decent P1's for just a tad over 1k easily. Ph2/3 1k'ers tend to be a lottery come MOT time with what bushes/brakes are needed (which believe me can mount up). 2k+ mark is where it's at, as it's V\W\X reg/Rallye territory... But you can find someone wanting a quick sale. 1k territory.. Well, I ended up with a 106 Xsi. |
