ok, so i went over to my ex's sisters house, as even though we arent together i still like to see them, and parked up for the night. she lives in a new block of flats. i came down to see that i have a parking ticket, because i didnt display a valid permit.fair enough right? my mistake? no. there is no such thing as a visitors permit. no-one that lives in the flats has ever been given one, and according to the gatehouse, they dont give any out. its 2 seperate companys, 1 for the actual housing, 1 for the parking. parking guys say i have to display a visitors permit, housing guys say there is no such thing as a visitors permit. they can take a walk if they think im paying, but where do i go from here? who do i contact to fight it?

We had cowboys sticking parking tickets on cars at work.

Ring them and ask who they're contracted by.
Tell them you've been in contact with those involved in monitering the parking area, and that you're next course of action will be going to the police
