What ford would a 1.6 8v be out of?

Also what would the BHP be?

1.6 CvH = 90-108 bhp

only 8v 1.6 i know of, apart from the pinto

wkd wkd wkd getting one of my step uncle had a whole rebuild and a gear box witch has been recon dished £400.00 fitted got to have the car for a week is that a good price? its going in my si.

i take it you have a 1.4 Si

if its an injected xr2i engine you will have 108bhp

and with fitting and if they are in good condition both box and engine with recipets thats not to bad mate

it would cost to much in fuel for a start!

the injection manifold from the 1.4 should bolt straight on to the 1.6 but im not sure if the injectors are the same.
do you know if the engine was from an xr2i or 3i? it might be an xr2 engine in that case it will have 98bhp a little more with injection fitted but not sure if you would get 108bhp as im almost certain the xr2 had smaller valves than the 2i BUT im not 100% on that.

whatever it was out of your going to gain bhp over the 1.4

im getting an xr2i engine now with an ashley 4 bramch and full system.

gona rebuild it with a kent cam kit and chip.

and from your other thread about xr2is and vtrs. my mate gota vtr with a k&n, full straight through gt3 race exhaust, raceland 4-2-1. its also lowered 30mm on koni springs with a sparco strut brace and my si is 40mm on spax springs with polyrace arb bushes and im on him through corners.
should be a good race once i get my engine in lol ill let u know how it goes!

Yea iv got it in but cent go that fast in it because it has had rebuild to so got to wait for it to run in

I think it went straight in i didnt fit it but my uncle said that would be the easyest engine to fit in my car 1.4si 8v.

im going to get the 4-2-1 manifold, decat it, iv got a k&n on mine al reddi, and a back box. thats the only mods relli at the min. then when i get the cash get some coilovers because i had a VW polo with coilovers and round abouts was so much fun
