bought some embossed plates with a gb logo, just wondering whats the legality of them people say its on the spot fine some people say u get a slip to change them withing 14 days and some people say they've had no problems, anybody shed some light?

all down to your attitude, your car and the officer dealing with you mate

if you have a proper barry'd up chav mobile and you give them lip then expect trouble but if your car is in good nick and your respectfull to the officer then i cant see why they would have a problem with you changing them there and then, just keep some proper legal ones in the boot that you can velcro on!!

Depends on the car, how its styled ect. Also you and your attitude, and the cop who has pulled you over..... as said lol.

You can get away with them if they look good bascially, i know people with them on a few cars and they do suit the car alot and never been pulled. But, if they are them carbon look embossed ones you can get, then be prepared to get a fine and points.

Old cars have them. Like the black and white plates are embossed, so whats saying you cant have them. Just dont use that attitude with the cop lol!

Get on the dvla website and have a look or something, or email them and find out :thumbsup:

there illegal as there new plates and they have to have a postcode of who made them on it and "bsi a" or "bsa i" number which ever it is lol aaaaand they have to have reflective backings of the right colours
