just been on pumaspeed website looking at a set of cams. they are by steve wyndham in south africa, pumaspeed want £209 for the parts then £115 for fitting (im sure it used to be £57). then i went on the steve wyndham website. i can buy the cams from him for £133.57 including international shipping and delivery to my door and my mechanic friend said he will fit them for £45 and a mug of tea. including parts.

also noticed k and n for my car was £103, i got min for £90 and those rear hub spacers that are in the product review pages in fast ford and performance ford this month are about £7 dearer then zippy racing

what a rip off how can they manage to stay trading!

Makes you wonder doesnt it! Thats how compainies make their money though. People dont actually realise to go look up the person who originally makes/sells the stuff and buy it direct from them cheaper, they just think oh, yea puma speed are good, ill buy it from there.

since my wife got a puma i've been on a few puma forums and i've read alot about pumaspeed, they seem to be expensive bodge merchants, i wouldnt ever use them even tho they are 10 mins down the road from me.

PumaBUILD are the place to go Just down the road from me so I've been in a few times to have a gander, and have had a couple of races with the owner

But I've seen first hand the work of PumaSpeed. I'll say no more.

there is a few lads round my way with mk4 and mk5 fez with tuned 1.7 puma engines in with the stupid puma speed logo on the side.
and to be honest there not all that there punchey on the pull off but crap keeping the top end i slaughter them and my 2 litter is lightly tuned and it isn't that far behind in the pull of ither.

it gets ahead till mine hits 3 and half grand then bang the power goes then were neck and neck then i'm away.

the puma bulit engines do seem to rev a lot easyer than my 2 litter i must say.

Mark had a load of work done by them on hs puma engine, port and polish cams fitted etc, he got a good deal, granted they did forget to charge him for some of the work done!

pumaspeed to have a problem with prices, i got my mk4 going through a massive change at the moment its all goone on hold though as i have lost my job, but for the duratec conversion they want £4995 for the whole conversion, so far i have the engine which has cost me £395 wiring loom im going to build my own one and the engine mount kit which should cost about £200 - £300 ( i think ) straight away so far ive done it for basically £4000 less then them
