Does my car have to have a lock on the drivers side to pass a VIC check? |

i'm assuming you have a class c write off car mate  and i am unsure check on the DVLA website and the Government Websites for info. My fiesta was meant to have a VIC Check (L884 DPA) but they kept messing me about and it never had one   but i drove it for 18 months! and had no problem (by any stretch, don't follow my example!)

It needs everything and MOT would, and door locks dont come into it. As long as they can open the door from the inside and out then it should be okay. CAT C FTW My 5 door also should have had one, but when I applied for logbook they just sent me one, so I didnt complain. Although a month later I wrote the front end off twice anyways, so wouldnt have made much difference

My car doesn't have a drivers door lock as standard. Door locks look awful! |

It has a full MOT on it,so could i some way get it taxed so wont have to bother with logbook and VIC,i have a green slip from V5 but its been filled in. |

A VIC check doesnt check the cars roadworthiness only the identity. |

the only thing vosa are interested in during a vic is the cars id ie. vin,chassis stamp,dash plate and engine number,you can trailer an unrepaired car the vosa check centre and they will test it and as long as all numbers match up you will walk away with a new v5c in the post to you
