So, the missus wanted to go over to Derby to get her friend a birthday present. A boring afternoon by all accounts. Wanting to spice it up I had a quick nose on the Renault website to see what Sunwin Renault had in stock that could be ripe for a raping.

I noted a few 197s so thought I'd pop in. Upon arrival I spotted one the limited edition R27 197 Clios in all black. I made small talk with the salesman for a bit, asked for the keys to it. The R27 comes with the Recaro interior which admittedly was only a pair of seats, did give me a little bit of a chub on. I nosed around even more making various enquires about the car. Then I asked if I could take it out.
The swine then said they only do test drives on Renaultsport models once they've agreed a finance deal, or a whole package deal in principle if you were going via personal fiance. What a load of balls. So you'd have to sit and mull over mindless details before you'd even taken it out and decided if you liked how it drove?! This might be fine in the world of cars only equipped for popping to Lidl in but this is a car made for driving. I dare say If I'd driven it I'd have been in the office looking at figures. This wasn't something I'd be bothered to do prior to riding the beast. Balls!
Balls to salesman and balls to tyre kicking with them again! They were bottom ticklers when I went to look at a Flame Red 172 before I bought my Cup. Hazy on details and emitting PUB figures about the cars. The 197 had "197bhp" written on the windscreen

It's 194bhp. Hate to be a stickler.
On a sidenote; I did peruse the new Renaultsport Twingo. Be an awesome car for someone in the market for a quick hatch without daft fuel costs, tax costs and sky-high insurance. ie. Any 18-20yr old with a decent job. Get one! Looks wild in real life.
