me and the mrs are having 5 days in dublin in a couple of weeks and was wondering if any of you had been before and reccomend any places to visit, will be hiring a car and taking tomtom so can travel anywhere really!! cheers folks

Accross the road from the Guiness Factory, there's a pub called Nancy Hands, it has quite possibly the best pint of Guiness anywhere in the world! I'm sure it's linked direct to the factory!  Also, go upstairs to the restaurant in there, and you shall experience food that I thought was the best I'd ever tasted! Other than that, I'm out of ideas as I only worked there for a little while and was doing big shifts so never went out too much. |

cheers guys, yeah i think the guiness factory is the one thing shell has set in stone that were doing, would just be good if a drank guiness, lol i shall have a look at the restaurant mate see if its still there, someone at work has mentioned a zoo as well so that may be on the cards |

Wayne, you absolutely HAVE to try a pint of Guiness in Dublin! There's different qualities of Guiness in the UK/Eire! Dublin (Southern Irelan) being the best, followed by Northern Ireland. Scotlands Guiness then follows in third and the Guiness over here tastes completely different! It's an aquired taste yes, but after drinking a few pints of Dublin Guiness, I moved from beer to that back in my drinking days.

You may be hard pushed to find some beers over there! I drank Harp, which you can't get over here in pretty much most pubs  But you don't get any looks for ordering beer, that's just as popular with people over there.

ask the locals about any spots you wanna go to, they are so laid back and friendly its unbelievable! always reccomend somewhere to try etc. |
