What if I just say its gone from petrol to diesel and the cc and not send anything else, will they request info? how does everyone change from 1.6 to 2.0ltr engines then? gotta mess about with this evidence?? |

You just give them a engine number, but 1.6 to 2.0l dosen't effect tax group! Needs to be headed paper with contact details!

Rang DVLA up just to check, and she said all I needed to do was fill engine number, fuel type and cc and post it to them

i need to get my engine number from my 2.0 on the modifications report for adrain flux i really should have written it down, so in theroy as the tax group is the same for both the 2.0 and 1.6 i shouldn't need to tell the dvla or am i wrong? |

DLVA should by law be notified about any change in engine so as the new number can be updated onto the V5. If your involved in an accident, (your fault or not) any accident engineer worth his salt will look at your cars corresponding codes after he's looked at the speed rating of your tyres

Duno if this is relevant but when we changed mine to a 2ltr, i just wrote down the new engine size and engine number on the log book and sent it off... a few weeks later back comes the form and JPH was updated to a 2.0

Yeah cheers Becks, I rang them and they said I didnt need any proof apart from engine number and cc. But as we cant find the engine number on the engine, seems to be ground off, so I'm just gonna send it in with that bit empty, as my mates have done that before with no probs... so I'm hoping... |

My deisel is 1773cc or something daft. Found engine number now, was hard as hell to find, and harder to read. all sorted Lets hope its ready for Ford Fair
