Plus having an old ford on the road he wont be wanting to keep repairing a runaround lol, deisel really is the way forward for economy how ever you drive.
I drive a 2005 ford tourneo at work that gets leathered every day on streets and motorways all the while still managing 40mpg and at 292,000 miles is good going, its got 125 bhp and plenty of talk so it holds its own to the everday car. I once pulled the seats out to move a couch and it was fast a fuck for a van lol.

Heyyyyy most zs's are still pretty reliable I've had no problems with mine bar my own tinkering really.

my mate ran his 106 derv, on chip fat, red diesel, when he got short he mixed 2 stroke with some diesel and that worked.

He went to scotland and back in it and it didnt miss a beat! it was great for a runaround.

Depends if its got tax on it, I think my dad gets it for 80p a litre.

Ah, fair enough.. nowhere round here does it.. nearest I have is rotherham/sheffield and its only about 20p cheaper, not worth the hassle for me lol

My dad gets it from some farm. When he started using it he had to change his fuel filter and then it was fine.

Mine is a good daily runner and i do 100miles a day

Yes my mk2 got a little out of hand,it should of stayed a 1.1 but i thought it was rude not to use the 2.0 zetec i had going spare! It started geeting to the point where i was spending money modifying the mk2 when i should of been fixing the saph,i dont want that again so i am looking at a derv now!

If i got a zs id modify it,i know i will!!

You'll end up modding a derv too

Just get used to it, you cant have a shitter.
