Volvos are not bad cars..they have an old man image. just keep on top of the bits and bobs and it wont be too bad ..getting one with a few toys means its a comfy car for not silly amounts of money...even if you dont get it chipped....it wont be a slouch and plenty quick enough for a daily....the only reason mine is a total C-unit is because its 4 wheel drive and the front and rear diffs and fuel filter esp are super cuntish to get at the latter especially....rest of it is no worse than a 16v fiesta.
depends where you read..some say 5k oil changes..some say 10k... im doing mine every 5k...thats the only real pain in the arse...bits are easy enough to get..euro-car-parts do home delivery...plenty of tuning goodies..and being a volvo..nobody even batts an eyelid.

id do an insurance quote tho if i were you...just to make sure

can do a pass ride sunday if your going...but mine will ride and handle completley differently to a fwd auto.

not that this is a dig at anyone..but volvos dont rot unless theyve been hit and poorly repaired. 12 years old this year and the only bit is a few bubbles on the top run of the screen and those are solid....rest of it.. door shuts sills wings...not even a hint of it!

try something rear drive. but being under 25 and depending on your no claims situation dont expect anything good to be very cheap to insure....saying that if you can hack being thought of as a biggger homo than terry (i know thats going some ) how about an MX5 or a Eunos..same car different badge essentially. both mazda's so and as if by magic....link below lol

the mx5 (enos) is a fantastic car but not very practical as an every day car, my mate has 1 and there crap in rain and dangerouse in snow, even with a large bad of cement in the boot he goes sideways on roundabouts if it raining hard, and in the snow its practicaly undrivable you just cant get traction its was fun watching him try and get it up the drive in the snow
