Now im on the pc I will reply properly...
I wanted a VAG deisel but as all of the ones I could afford were utter shite, and the ones I couldnt afford had stupidly high miles for the price they were asking I thought f*ck it
Looked at various other cars, wanted an estate. Would have loved a T5R as Jam knows but due to running costs, I cant do it to myself.
Found a mondeo zetec s, which looked quite fancy, but it sold a few hours before I could get my hands onto it, but the same person had another mondeo for sale, which is the one I bought.
My criteria for a new car was simple:-
Needed to be within my tight price range
Needed to be cheap enough to run
Needed to be cheap to maintain, fix parts
Needed to have a decent history
Needed to be bigger than a fiesta sized car
Needed to be in good condition
Needed to be within my insurance range
The mondeo:-
Was in my price range
Is cheap to run, the 1.8 blacktop 115bhp, and actually have a gearbox ratio which is close to what a diesel box was like on my fiesta
Ford, its cheap to maintain and fix, plus I know what I'm doing with Fords
It has a near full history, with the major point of cambelt change not so long ago
Its big enough for what I need, which makes it comfortable also
Its in good condition, with only a few little bits of surface rust, with no rusty arches
And my insurance is happy
My reasoning, not that I need to say why...
I'm fed up of having a shit car which is a pain to drive due to being uncomfortable etc etc
And to be honest, when you get to the point where you have had many other cars before which you have modified to the extent I have! (which most have not even come close on here tbh lol and I mean bodywise, not engine wise) I feel that I want a daily that doesnt break down every week, that doesnt have much attension drawn to it, and doesnt cause me alot of hassle.
Anyway, I have plans, for the future, so its all good.
