brakes are one of the easiest things on the planet to do mate you should be able to handle it no bother also the abs is easy to bin like happypaul says just remove all the sensors and wiring then take the bulb out job done hope everything goes well mate and dont take it back to the same garage again chancing baskets mate

I could be wrong, but I believe if a car has ABS and you remove it then it will fail an MOT.

I dont think it causes a problem Percy, loads of the Pulsar guys remove their ABS and they pass MOT's no probs. As long as the light isn't on then they can't say anything. :)

It would only fail the MOT if the bulb on the dash was showing it was "faulty" which may well be the case on never cars if you cannot stop it from coming on the dash.

cool cheers guys again.

looked into RS2000 brake set ups with grooved discs, mintex pads, not sure on calipers yet might just get standard ones for now..... see what happens.

found some copper pipe aswell for £10 which was cool.

my mate also said i could get a brake pipe kit from a ford dealer already made up....is this true?

hopefully gonna take some pics when the weather is better, hate looking at her everyday just sitting there waiting to be on the road.....sucks.

If you can get the brake pipes pre-made, you may have to bend them out of shape to get them in position anyway :lol:

Honestly, just get the copper pipe kit and have a blast. Take off your old ones and use them as a template for the new ones. They don't have to be millimetre perfect, just generally the same. Dont forget to put the ends on before you flare the pipe, and make sure they're the right ones at the right ends. :)

yeah its gonna be a long waiting game cos of money but well worth it at the end.

just woundering if there is a guide to getting rid of the ABS as i can slowly do bits to it in the next couple of weeks, just thinking if there is one it would be a great help.
