did you have a look at what it had failed on? ie what welding needed doing? when mine failed on welding a couple of years ago, they only put seatbelt ancorage corroded to excess and marked up a little bit, when we got down to the job we had to weld practically all the floor back together. the joys of old fords, lol!
IMO £350 seems a bit steep, mate's picking up today a solid Si with full MOT, mint exterior etc and only paying £400.
Also wouldn't have thought a sticking caliper would cause abs light to be on. it'll be something like the sensor pickups are fucked.

if you have a sticking caliper it will fault it for wheel speed indifference most likely. the ABS on mk 3 fiestas is only the same as on mk4 escorts its certainly not high tech. belt driven from the driveshafts :O. brake pipes on the fiesta are the same. driver side rear is obscured by the petrol tank but id give it a 2 spanner rating. its not hard just think your running a bit of cable from a battery to an amp flaring is putting terminals on.

my abs light is on and I dont even have it fitted.. figure that one out
