I thank God that it rained terrentially yesterday as on the way home i found out my escort( that ive owned for 2 weeks) is rotten!!!

because of the crazy down poor on the mway, all the spray came through vents in the door apperture gathered in th inner quarter panel then when it was full it leaked into the o/s/r footwell.

my mate only noticed cz his feet were freezing cold, then he looked dwn n toldme! i thought he was jokin then i reached to feel n submerged an inch n half of my finger in a pool of water!!!

we stopped at services to see where it was coming from but jus cudnt find out where, then i realised i had a leak in my footwell coming from the inner arch/bulkhead n dripping into my footwell.

not to mention that my wheel bearing was gona collapse at any minute too!!!

so when we all got home me n my mate Naylor decided to strip th car n see where it was all coming from, we did this in the pouring rain!!!!

we found that the leak from the front came from where the scuttle panel meets the wing water was goin between there n obviously there was a whole for the water to leak into the driver footwell.

the pic is side on, tilt ur head n ur lookin at the right hand side of the driver footwell.

this panel i knew had been replaced in the past. probly because of the same reason i realised yesterday.
however it was poor replaced and is going rotten.

after removing the quarter panel trim n stuck our heads insige for a look i was completly shocked. where the sill goes under the car and is welded to the floor it is all missing!!! the only thing covering it is the S1 bodykit sill.

you can see th panel has rotted away and is being covered by the kit!!!!! shocking!!!!

i was told that the car was rot free when i bought it n that it was a solid mk3 shell. OBVIOUSLY NOT!!!

it looks like whoever did this jus welded a section of sill over the old n its looks awful.

so i rang Ollie who built it up for me, i showed him the pics n he was shocked.

he rang me today and said he would have everything renewed and the problems done for no charge, or i could have my ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£3000 back.

i took the money, theres no way id have that car back at all. it will rot again. in 6 months to a year it will be worth nothing n ready for the scrapyard.

im upset cz it looks mint on top,and underneath appeared clean.

looks like im on the hunt for another car then!!!!
