i filled up from half a tank with v power, and since then the focus has been better on fuel so i did a bit of investigating on the STOC, and the Focus has a self teaching management system which adjusts to the fuel you use

if it carries on doing 28mpg rather then 22-25 on normal, i might take the plunge and run it on super more often

pops a bit more to

And? What you paying for normal? A quid at lowest, for poorer quality fuel which poorer mpg...

An extra fiver for a tankful and you get a lot more mpg and know it's the best you can put in there. I wouldn't dream of using anything other than V-Power for mine

Sorry but being an Accountant has made me do this:

101.9 = 25mpg

108.9 = 28mpg

So a 6.87% increase in price = a 12% increase in mileage...

Basically if all the figures you have said are true then keep using it all the time.

It's amazing how many cars ping on 95 alone, although often it's difficult to detect.

Weather or not its due to deteriation of the fuel we, joe bloggs, get our hands on I don't know, as I can't believe most manufactures now map cars on 97+

Why would you spend silly amounts of money a month on renting an FST and only put 95ron fuel in

I've use Vpower. Mine is designed to run on 97 ron but it *can* run on 95. though It can make use of vpower stuff better than 97 ron.

Pulls smoother more than anything else, but you don't tend to notice until after a few tanks of the stuff.

Even Optimax was 98ron...

And Bp Ultimate is 97ron...

Tesco is only 99 at their special garages, their normal super which is supplied at most of their forecourts is 97ron...

Sainsbury's supply 97ron, which I've seen being filled up with a BP Ultimate tanker...

V-Power all the way. Even when it was optimax and 98 I wouldn't fill up with anything else. I tried other supers and none of them got the mileage or smoothness. Plus I was getting a bit more knock with other fuels after a spirited drive, but not with V-Power.
