took my car for its mot last week all was well until they started to do the emissions test, when suddenly the top rad hose burst and water went fu**ing everywhere, so couldnt finish mot, the guy said that he would postpone the test and put it down to failure of his equipment, he was going to do the rest of the test as much as he could without the car needing to run (check for rust and everything else) all was fine just a little bit of rust on the underside but nothing to bad, so new rad hose eventually arrived and he went to take car into garage to fit it and the dammed thing wont start, turn the key and nothing happens, sounds like immobaliser to me, ahhhhhhhh fu*in thing everything is goin wrong at once!!!!!!!!!!! sorry for the rant but couldnt help it, if anyone has any ideas about the not starting issue please telll meee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

does it crank, if it does have you tried the fuel cut off switch its in the passenger side where your feet go, there is a small rubber blanking plug and its behind it, press down.
if that dont work have you got another chipped key?

not sure if it cranks dont think it does, ignition comes on and lights and everything else works but nothing happens when key is turned, and no i dont have another chipped key!!!!

youll have to start from scratch then if you can check the following
when key is turned and if the engine doesnt crank check there is power going to the starter motor solenoid- usually the smallest wire on the starter motor.
if it turns over when you turn key check for a spark by taking a ht lead of sparkplug and placing it ontop of engine. get someone to try and turn over engine there should be a spark.
next check for fuel by disconnecting the fuel filter at one end, turn key on for a second then turn off and fuel should have come out.
how long was engine running for when hose came off, was the coolant getting pressurised?
afraid that unless it is something the mot tester did it isnt there responsibilty, all you have to check is the oil and cambelt history although this is usually only checked on diesels.

well the tester if a friends dad, he said he wasnt going to charge me for the mot until ha actually put it through, would have had rad hose fixed but as it wont start then didnt bother, i drove the car to the garage and it was running fine only about a 20 min run there, he took it straight in to start the emissions test then all hell broke loose and water went feking everywhere, there was deffinatly pressure, its just that i dont understand how one day it can start fine and the next there is just no life, its almost as if the immobaliser is fuked up and it wont start!!! im gonig to spaek to him tomorrow as he was meant to be looking at it on friday so im hoping he has got it fixed!!!!
