This is probably me being a bit dumb, but as of October you will not longer need a actual Tax disk as its all checked electronically. With this move they have have now said there will be an option to pay monthly via direct debit, so if you but a car second hand where the owner pays monthly for the tax, does the car come with tax or not?

As stated probably me being a bit dumb as not quite awake, but it just seems that this is going to cause more hassle for people purchasing second hand cars and also harder to check whether it is actually taxed?

I can't see it being any more of a problem than the Tax+Ins/SORN change a couple of years ago.

In fact, on the contrary, it may make it simpler, just buy your tax to get home from purchase/get to the MOT centre/summer use like you would insurance, instantaneous (HA) without the need to wait for delivery/Post office opening....
