There is info on dvla website about how to declare an engine change because you need to declare it with the dvla and insurance.

All I did was change my V5 to the new capacity and engine number and changed insurer to Adrian Flux.

Just told them I had put a mondeo 2.0 in, they asked for the engine number and bobs your uncle.
Think they might have asked me if I did the change myself but nothing more than that. Defo no request for reports!!

Yeah, its stamped on the flat next to where the gearbox mounts on the front.

Take a note of it now while the engine is out/accesible as once its all plumbed in its a pain in the arse to read, trust me

You can still see it, its just a pain

If its like my 2.0 and stamped with little dots rather than full lettering then I hope you gave that area a good clean as its a bitch to read properly even when on the stand.

My 1.6 has it nicely stamped with full letters and is a breeze to read. You'll see what I mean if you have the dots
