Insurance companies are the be investigated in the way they inflate prices of things during a claim.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-18268650Funny enough, lad I work with had a crash a couple of weeks ago, and currently has a hire car being paid for by the other persons insurance. When he got the car, he signed the form, which had a price of £56 per day on it. When he received copies of the form which the insurance company sent him (along with other forms), the price on the exact same sheet of paper was £112 per day!!
And THIS is what actually pushes our insurance up, more so than the whole claim thing. Plus, as it says in that article, the insurance companies sell on your details of an accident to these claim companies, so they're the ones forcing the issue of claiming for anything and everything! Again, lad I work with has had the phonecalls from the claim companies, literally HOURS after his accident.

Needless to say, he IS making a claim...
The whole industry needs bitch slapping back into place and to stop ripping us off. Rant over, but, discuss....
