Okie dokie,

As you should be aware, Im in need of a new head unit. Has to be a cd player, all the usual stuff, so can somebody please recommend one. I will be transferring it to my new car in the summer, so I may aswell get meself a decent one. Budget of about £250 I reckon, give or take a few quid.

One thing that pissed me off with the old one is the cd skipping because my suspension is stiff, so new one needs to be able to cope with that.

Doubtful I'll be getting a sub and amp, but would like to keep the option open for the future.

Removable fascia a must, and any other added security a bonus.

I like things that look nice, and prefer a more technical look, with alot of buttons, rather than the minimalist look (just my preference)

So fire away, show me what you recommend

I like the idea of the Pioneer with Bluetooth so phonecalls go through the speakers for handsfree with a difference, but the Pioneer is a better looking one with a good spec aswell.

Ive been looking at the alpine 9812rb and 9833r. Both are quality head units with highpower internal amps, and they look the part.

rrp is about £300 each.

seen the 9812rb on ebay £200 brand new.

ya cant go far wrong with the pioneer one me mates got the nxt model up from that one and it sounds fantastic all loverly lil sub menus av a butchers

I'd seriously have a look at Alpine's latest offerings as i've had 2 headunits from them and they've been top notch, good power output, lots of functions and good quality sound.

Dunno if you're familiar with Car Audio Direct but I've ordered a few times with these guys and they are such a good bunch, give you help if you need it, nice and fast service too.
