just bought another ERST LSD gearbox on ebay and collecting it this evening.

Does anyone know how much this would cost for a refurb as I wouldn't not know how to do it myself, also anyone got any good contacts or a specialist that would do a good job of it or could most competent garages do it ? The box i just bought apparently works fine, but for peace of mind really want it fully refurbed

generally a specialist job not a a normal garage one as most will just send it on to a specialist, if reported to be ok when removed i would be inclined to just fit it and give it a go, must be looking at around £250 to strip and rebuild with new bearings etc

how easy would it be to fit bearings and seals myself ?

its a tricky job rebuilding a box, you need a fifth gear puller, and plenty patience and mechanical knowhow

My mate just got a gearbox built by G.E.A.R.S which has been very very reliable and hes pushing out big horsepower in his Firsta with teh Focus RS engine

Hope you get sorted out mate, and if you decide to build it yourself , you can buy all the parts reqwuired, gaskets and bearings from Burton Power who I found where the cheapest and genuine Ford parts too

CTS are also very good. heard a lot of good stuff about them and the stage 2 lsd box in my car is done by them
