ok, I'm thick, I've come to terms with that, an I'm sure some of you have to. With the stupid questions I ask but here goes.
I read somewhere, might have been on here peak power for a 1.6 is 90bhp @ 5000rpm
What does that mean? Does that mean if I changed gear at 5000rpm I get 90bhp? And anywhere before or after is less? Because I always thought the more you rev it the faster, so I go to 6500rpm and change gear when ok trying to beat people in races from traffic lights that are privately set up in my own field
I thought about it and thought of "power curves" and "torque curves" I've never seen what the graphs say just the lines. And seen that they drop at the top. Which to me
Might say that the peak power is 90bhp@5000rpm and then as it goes over that the bhp goes down.. (I haven't seen this for a fiesta it was on top gear breifly if you remember the powerpoint)
But yeah, overall question is, what's faster 5000rpm gear changes or 6500rpm gear changes.
Try not to flame me for stupidity I'd like to think your all used to me by now
