I think you have to remember that its a custom job and not a off the shelf conversion, so a certain amount of custom fabrication (Bodging) has to be done.

Pumabuild is a couple of minutes from my house and I get on quite well with the owner. I was down there one Saturday morning "interviewing" him for something, and whilst I was there, they were fixing a Pumaspeed balls up for a customer who had some work done there. The stories I heard about them were quite shocking, so I'm not surprised about this!

this is one of the pitfalls of buying a car thats already done. your buying into someone elses work. whenever buying anythig modified especially that heavily you need to go over the car with a fine tooth comb. in puma speeds defence the bumper may well have been bottomed out on something and the cracked and haging off may not be down to them. im not defending anyone here. on the other hand, an establishment offering custom fabrication work needs to be up to an acceptable standard of work. welders should be coded to prove they are at least competent in creating strong joins in material. as for the cost. the panels, wheels, labour for fitting things certainly wouldnt have been cheap and thats what having a garage/workshop involved does to the cost of project cars...it makes it immense.

as for filling the mounts with silicon and not using grommets on bulkhead joins thats a bit naughty! however. if this was the way it left thier workshops i wouldnt have accepted it not in a million years.

Yeah i've heard some stories about them on zsoc, seems not to be the only incident. I ordered a Miltek exhaust from them last year and didnt have any problems though.

Shocking workmanship!

I can't believe after 36k thats what the result looks like! Looks like a right bodge! Fair enough when you are making a one off, things have to be modified and changed to make things fit, but there is no excuse for mastic and missing grommets!

I would take it back to them and make them fix it, or demand a refund!

The guy who bought it should have checked it over like when buying ANY car. So therefore his own fault for being a tool.


This is why I don't trust any garages with my car. No matter who they are... I prefer to do the bodges myself

lol! Same here, whenever I take any car to any garage it comes back with something broken, wrong or just generally bodged!

Working on your own car is deffo the best way forward imo

For 36k I'd of prefered less done to the car and have it built properly.

Just goes to show you can't even trust some "specialist" companies.

Then again, I'd never buy a modified car. I'd do it all myself with people I can trust will do a real job.

that does look like a right bodge, but thats the first bad thing i've heard about puma speed, i live 10 mins away from them so there are alot of cars round me who have had work done by them, on 1 of the puma sites i visit they rave about pumaspeed saying how good they are.
i have personaly never used them and never will because i think there prices are a little over the top lol
