nah the brake fluid level looks ok :S

hope it isnt.. just bought a new rad hose for ?23.49.

and i generally dont think it is brake fluid because it drips from the alternator.. although if it is and you know more please.. enlighten me

which water pipe have you just replaced? the three piece one on the left hand side that attaches to the water rail and the engine and somewhere else? if so i replaced mine a while back now im not getting as big a puddle as yours but i am getting small puddles and the water is dripping off the alternator too, i think i fixed mine though now (i hope) i suggest you try and push the pipe on to the water rail more and make sure the clip is tight that seems to have fixed it for me.

what does the water feel like? silly i know, but if its nearly clear but a bit greasy feeling and doesnt smell too good then its probably coolant!

the water rail doesnt have any coolant around it at all, no moisture should i say.

The pipe coming up from the back of the engine on your left hand side by the strut mount, and then runs along with some other pipes and down into a cooler at the front of the engine has moisture around the PAS header tank.

I think ive singled out brake fluid now (hopefully).

I will pressure test it 2moro at work and let you know if its pishin out.. otherwise i have no idea.

My idea was that the coolant pressure rises with engine speed yadayadyada, then the car stops and the pressure is still sitting there so slowly seeps out and over night creates a puddle?

Ive got plastic trays under it atm just incase it starts but its difficult to tell when so many pipes are all in close contact..

Any ideas on the cooler infront of the radiator? (Im reasonably clueless with my engine setup atm)

Coolant pressure rises with temperature. The reason is leaks after you've stopped is because the temperture shoots up when the car stops moving because there's no airflow to cool it down and no pump to push the water round the system. That's why coolant systems normally leak just after you park up.

Have a look around the engine bay on the side where the puddles appear and see if there's any white marks near coolant hose clamps or around the rad. It could also be coming out the other side and trickling through the front of the car.
