Des - For moving, possibly sticky in FAQs please mate.

The following site, as already posted gives you most car manufacturers and a list of the following:

* Paint Colour Name.
* Paint Code.
* Year Colour Used From.
* Year Colour Used Until.
* Solid/Metallic/Pearl etc.

http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/colour_codes_menu.htm

Ford europe is split into 2 sections. Colour names beginning A-L and then M-Z.
I found it very useful, and not only can it be used to identify the colour by the code, but also provides a comprehensive list of ALL the codes used for one colour (As I've noted a few irregularities about certain blues/greens etc).

For example.

In 1991, The following codes were used to designate Moondust Silver metallic:

6/61/62/63/M/M6/ZJ

Yet in 1990, they used:

S7/XSC2431C

And in 2003 they are using:

ZJNC

Could help prevent someone buying a ringer too, if you double check the colour code first. Imagine an Si in "Aubergine" E/XSC2747C, but the colour code showed T4 which is "Azure Blue".

Hope that helps. Guy :)

Have a look at the vin plate on your slam panel. it will have the code on there, then look that code up on the very useful site that guy posted! ;) :D

Just had a brain wave (Someone will have thought of this already.
Seen as though the site doesn't have a search feature for finding your specific code (ie: To put your code in and find your colour), I tried using the "Find" feature on IE and Firefox, and it seems to work very well as a search function :D

Sorry, I should have added using the "Find" function by putting in your colour code :lol:

(anyone else suffering a lack of "Edit" button?)
